Common Diabetic Foot Care Problems

If you are diabetic then you need to know that extra care must be considered for your feet. Diabetes commonly can cause foot numbness and affect the blood flow to your feet, putting you at a higher risk for wounds and infection. This sounds scary but is why preventative care is extremely important. A yearly diabetic foot evaluation should be performed.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Neuropathy is damage or dysfunction of one or more nerves that results in numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, and pain in one or more areas of the body. Neuropathy typically begins in the hands and feet, but can occur in other parts of the body as well.
